Scheduling Quality Time

Good health care takes time and attention to detail. Initial consultations take from 1 to 2 hours, and all follow up visits are 45 minutes. Occasionally, follow-up appointments may be done by telephone on a case-by-case basis. This is usually based on necessity, convenience, or other factors.

Health Insurance Policy

I do not participate in any health insurance plans as an in-network provider, which allows me to see fewer patients, spend more time with each patient, and eliminate excess paperwork, thereby delivering higher quality health care. I am an out-of-network provider under all major insurance plans, and I will be happy to provide the necessary paperwork and documentation for patients to obtain reimbursement from their insurance companies.

Convenience of Payments

Fees are due at the time of the visit by cash, check or credit card payment. A credit card authorization form can be downloaded on this website. Exceptional arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis. The fee for the first visit is always due at the time of the visit without exception. Dr. Charuvastra's fees are comparable to those of other psychiatrists in Manhattan. Please contact Dr. Charuvastra to receive his fee schedule.

Unbiased Recommendations

Upon conducting an initial evaluation (or during the course of treatment), you will always be recommended the best treatment options, even if I do not provide the services myself and you have to be referred elsewhere.
